Hello, everyone! Frist of all I want to apologize for this being late! This post should've been written and uploaded last Tuesday. My mom and I have been in the process of moving so it has been a little crazy on my end. I have great news though! Last Tuesday, which happened to be my birthday, I officially got my cast off for good and I am now in my brace! I am so happy to be able to actually take it off and itch my leg haha. My doctor said that everything is healing very well and sent me on my way. I go back in about 4 weeks for her to check how things are going in the recovery part and let me know when I can start physical therapy again. I was super nervous when I was getting it off because now I actually have to look at my foot and let me tell you and wasn't a pretty site the first couple days. After a couple showers and wound care, I can stand to look at it and I am extremely happy with the outcome. I'm not going to lie I was pretty nervous about the outcome since I've never seen myself with flat, straightened toes. Now that I am getting used to it, it's crazy to think that just three months ago my foot looked nothing like this. A lot of my family have asked me about doing the other foot. I honestly don't know, I think it is definitely a possibility though! It feels so good to be able to walk again! I'd have to say the one frustrating thing is finding shoes to fit over a brace. This has always been an issue for me since I have had braces in the past. Luckily my mom knows of an amazing guy at Fournier Footwear who has helped her for years. He has agreed to help me get/make a somewhat fashionable shoe for my foot and I could not be more appreciative. Most people don't understand how much of a difference picking out the shoe you actually want to wear makes, it's a huge confidence boost! I also know a lot of you are probably wondering what's going on with my service pup? I have some intel I can let you in on, but I don't want to tell too much since it still is not a 100% definite. They have had their eyes on a dog for me for quite some time now and they have told me that he is doing very well with his training so far. I hope that I can meet him soon and be able to give you guys more info! Everyone, please cross your fingers! Something I want to add and I know I say it quite a bit in these posts but it truly means a lot to me. Thank you to everyone, family, friends, acquaintances, and even strangers. Your positive energy, kind words, and sweet prayers came and still continue to come right my way and have helped more than you know! Together we got through this journey and it doesn't stop here. Keep spreading love
