They are out!!

Monday went just as I said it would! I got in there and they took the cast off, I got x-rays taken, got the pins out, then molded for the brace, and a new cast on while I wait. While I was sitting here writing this I was trying to figure out what was the best way to describe the feeling I had during the process. It didn't hurt when they took the pins out but it was an uncomfortable feeling. The child life advocate, Sam, that helped me through my surgery was there so that helped a lot! She even surprised me by bringing in one of the therapy dogs I met after my surgery to help me through the next step of taking the pins out. Thankfully I didn't have to look at my foot because I know that would have freaked me out even more. Sam let me watch Netflix while everything was happening and held up a towel so I couldn't see anything. This is the only time that I'll  say the unknown actually didn't scare me. My doctor also gave me the go ahead to start putting weight on my foot, which I am super happy about! I don't have any pain, just a little sore in the ankle from the way she positioned my foot in the new cast. Lucky me, I also go back to pick up my brace on my birthday, May 16th! All good things coming my way and I couldn't be more happy and grateful!

Talk soon!!
